The wiley wascal, Willow the warrah
Things get absolutely crazy when Zoey and Zeek meet the loony warrah named Willow. This Dusicyon australis has the mice going in circles trying to have a simple conversation.

(Zoey and Zeek tiptoe into the World of Yesterday confident and ready for anything.)
Zoey: I think we’re ready for anything at this point!
Zeek: Nothing’s going to frighten me anymore.
Zoey: Good. I think we’ve seen enough weird sights here to last a lifetime. Get your camera ready, Zeek.
Zeek: You know, why walk into the jungle. Let’s just wait here and give our feet a break. Whatever comes next will probably find us.
Zoey: Not a bad idea.
(Willow the Warrah appears out of nowhere and runs past them.)
Willow: Where, oh, where do I go?!
Zoey: Where?
Zeek: Who?
Zoey: Who what?
Willow: Where, oh, where?
Zeek: I don’t know who I’m talking to!
Zoey: Zeek!
Zeek: I’ll get him!
Zoey: Come back here!
(They run through the forest.)
Zeek: There it is! (He runs ahead)
Zoey: (Panting) Wait up, Zeek!
Zeek: I saw him!
Zoey: Saw who?
Zeek: It was red. Brownish red. I think.
Zoey: (Still panting) What was?
Zeek: It was right here!
Willow: (Appearing suddenly through the bush) Hahaha! Catch me if you can-can-can! Where, oh, where will we go-go-go next?
Zeek: Ahh!
Zoey: Eeep!
(Willow lands in front of them and hops up and down.)
Willow: The mice is away, the cats will play! Ha ha ha!
Zeek: This wolf is batty!
Zoey: No, it’s a fox! Look at its color and snout.
Willow: Where, oh, where?
Zeek: Stop, oh, stop that!
Zoey: Pardon me, Mr. Fox…Wolf…uh…Miss. May we ask you who you are?
Willow: “Who I are” is Willow! Now, who where you?
Zoey: You mean who are you?
Zeek: He’s starting to talk in circles.
Willow: No, this is talking in circles. (He runs in a circle.)
Zeek: Oh, boy! Hundreds of species to learn about and we have to get one who doesn’t know who he is.
Willow: Catch the fool! (He bites Zeek lightly)
Zeek: Hey!!!
Zoey: Zeek, are you alright?
Zeek: Yeah, he just bit through my shirt.
(Willow grins coyly, his muzzle low to the ground and his tail wagging high in the air.)
Zeek: Come here you!
Willow: And we’re off!
(Willow takes off running and disappears into the trees.)
Zoey: Follow that wolf-fox thing!
Willow: (Suddenly appearing from where he just left and runs past them again.) Catch me if you can-can-can!
Zoey: Willow, can you please slow down?
Willow: No-no-no, gotta go-go-go! Where, oh, where do we go next?
(Willow runs around them in a big circle and catches up to them from behind.)
Willow: Best ride up top if you want to keep up.
(He scoops them up on his muzzle.)
Zoey and Zeek: Whoa!
Zeek: Er…thanks, Willow. What ARE you?
Willow: Not wolf, not fox, but both am I. Where you seek, warrah you find. I’m a warrah!
Zeek: Did you understand that?
Zoey: I think so. A warrah!
Willow: That’s right! I’m a warrah. Yes. Dusicyon australis, Latin for “foolish dog of the south.”
Zeek: That sounds about right.
Willow: Some say fox and some say wolf, but always Falkland do they say.
Zoey: The Falkland Islands! Is that where you are from?
Willow: Aye, by the brown-red hair on my backy-back-back. A Falkland Island fox or Falkland Island wolf. So many other names have I been named, but a good old warrah am I.
Zoey: Tell us, Willow. You lived in the Falkland Islands. Where is that?
Willow: Off the southern tip of South America. Darwin himself visited us there. Charming visitor, he was. He wrote about us, too, in The Voyage of the Beagle.
Zoey: I will have to read that. Thank you for the reference.
Willow: No time for reading! Much time for running. I’ve come a long way but can’t stop now. This loup-renard must run!
Zoey: Hey! That’s fox-wolf in French!
Willow: Oui, oui!
Zeek: How long have you been running?
Willow: 1876 was when I stopped running on earth, so I have a lot of catching up to do.
Zeek: I see.
Willow: Well, no time to talk. I must run there!
Zoey: Run where?
(Willow drops them off.)
Willow: Where, oh, where will I run-run-run?
Zoey: Wait a second!
Willow: (In the distance) Ta ta, Zoey and Zeek, I’ll see you where I will….
(They stare after Willow in shock and admiration.)
Zoey: Goodbye, wolf-fox.
Zeek: See you later, Looney Tunes!
